PILOT methodology

The process of preparation of the four Sustainable Urban Transport Plans (SUTPs) will build on the current state-of-the-art practices in Europe, recent results from relevant R&D projects, as well as expert knowledge and advice. This will form the input for the local demonstration processes through the targeted training of actors and with guidance materials. The preparation processes will be monitored and evaluated independently in order to obtain feedbacks regarding the usefulness, effectiveness and efficiency of the methods and tools provided by PILOT. The results of the evaluation will in turn form the basis for revising the guidance materials and formulating recommendations for stakeholders from European to local level.

Additional guidance for the entire demonstration process will be obtained through the involvement of external experts and practitioners in the field of SUTP preparation.

To achieve a broad knowledge of the results of PILOT among stakeholders in Europe, all outcomes will be disseminated through various channels throughout the project lifetime and beyond.
